The CCK Sports Ministry uses competition as a platform to glorify God by bringing believers in closer fellowship with each other and introducing the community to the church. All events open with a time of prayer and a devotional to direct our focus on Christ and represent Him as we compete. As believers, we all have different gifts given to us by God that can be manifested in a team atmosphere. This ministry will seek to develop those gifts. Games include co-ed softball, co-ed kickball, men’s flag football, men’s basketball, bowling, board game nights, and most things involving healthy competition. “Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality”. Romans 12:13 (NIV1984)
An integral component of the ministry here at Calvary Chapel Kearny is hospitality. It is our desire that through various means we reach others with God’s love, not only those within the church but also the community. Our services to others include preparing and delivering meals, assistance with household tasks. In relation to church activities, we can assist in the preparation of the sanctuary, and/or Fellowship Hall for weddings, women’s events, guest speakers. USHERS & GREETERS
And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” – Mark 9:35
From the first face you will see when you enter to the person who joyfully serves your food, what better way to exemplify the love of Christ. This is what we do. For more information, please contact Freddy Matos at firstname.lastname@example.org, or ask one of the greeters.
The Bible is filled with wisdom regarding marriage; and as the master builder, God has established a blueprint He desires to share with you. Our mentoring couples will prepare you for this life changing event. Coaching begins with a premarital interview with one of our pastors. After receiving some information from you, a mentoring couple will contact you to set up your meeting dates. This time of preparation is comprised of a minimum of 8 sessions, a completed application from the bride and groom, and letters from both sets of parents; these documents will be handed to you at the initial interview with the pastor.
If you wish to be married at Calvary Chapel of Kearny, you are required to participate in Pre-marital Coaching. Your ceremony will not be scheduled on the church calendar until half of the Coaching process is completed. For more information, please contact Pastor Luis Solis at email@example.com.
